Fitzroy House – Fiona Lynch

A big congratulations to Fiona Lynch, who took out the award for Designer of the Year at this years Interior Design Excellence Awards (IDEA). On top of this award, Fiona Lynch also received a High Commendation in the Single Residential category for the Fitzroy House residence.

Fitzroy House – The Lara Boot Factory in Hargreaves Street, Fitzroy, was converted into living space by Ivan Rijavec in the 1980′S. Fiona Lynch was approached by the new owner to create a private and relaxing retreat, one that offered space and storage for his extensive collection of books and art, in the midst of a bustling neighbourhood.

Blending old and new, the house embraces a refined interior, with bold use of materials and bespoke joinery, while respectfully preserving the architectural elements.

Delta Light Spy Clips where used throughout the project. The pure cylindrical form and matt black finish work well to blend the old and new. The use of spots of light within the lighting design, creates a play between light and shadow, which heightens the depth of material palette at night.

Dyson CSYS Task Lights

Dyson have recently entered the lighting market with an exciting series of LED lighting products which utilise heat pipe technology. The first of their ranges to launch is CSYS, a series of task lights for the home or office, consisting of a desk lamp, clamp and floor lamp.

What is unique to CSYS is the use of heat pipe technology to cool the LEDS, a technology typically found in satellites. Heat is drawn away from the LEDs using the heat pipe technology and dissipated through an aluminium heat sink, which forms the light’s horizontal arm. The result is CSYS LEDs maintain their brightness and colour quality over 154,000hrs (calculated lifetime based on IES TM-21-11 LM70).

The CSYS range has a specially engineered adjustment mechanism Axis Glide motion, which allows you to adjust the light to exactly where you need with the touch of your finger. While conventional lights rely on tension to stay in position, CSYS task lights use gravity. The arm moves vertically using a counterweight pulley system inspired by the construction crane. It also extends 27.5 cm horizontally along anti-friction bearings. The zinc alloy base rotates smoothly through 360°, and is weighted to increase stability.

The result is a fitting which can be adjusted to direct light to precisely where you need it smoothly and easily.

Another design feature of the CSYS task lights is the touch-sensitive, continuous dimmer which adjusts the level of light to where its needed. The dimmer also has a memory, so when the light is switched on it returns to the last light level set before being switched off.

CSYS Task Lights are fitted with eight high-power warm white (2700ºK) LEDS 12W 550lm with glare free conical reflectors. They surpass the task area illuminance requirements of AS/NZS 1680.

The latest INLITE catalogue is available now!

The Inlite brand has been designed to fulfil the increasing demands on design briefs such as lighting efficiency, control, light quality, and budget compliance.

The new catalogue features some of the INLITE classics but it also sees the expansion and evolution of some old favorites.

The Cardan family has a new addition with the Cardan Asymmetric. Like the original round and square versions the Cardan Asymmetric is a high quality die-cast downlight made for professional applications. Designed specifically for the Hero LED engines the Cardan Asymmetric has a specially engineered twist and lock system. The Hero series of LED engines offers a variety of lumen packages, beam angles, colour temperatures and dimming protocols, while guaranteeing the service maintenance of the engine.

The Sistem Evo is the latest evolution in the Sistem series. With a more refined body the new design fits seamlessly into its environment. Engineered with a curved and adjustable snap-in insert the Sistem Evo allows for easy installation and maintenance – function is at the forefront.

Designed with a twist lock system, the Sistem Evo utilises the complete range of Hero LED engines. Available in a single, twin or triple version in a matt black or matt white finish, with interchangeable inserts.

One-Liner has seen the expansion of the family with two new additions, One-Liner Wall Wash and One-Liner Direct/Indirect. Keeping it consistent across the range the new additions are fitted with high performance Tridonic LED engines, with integrated LED drivers and optional DALI control.

The Tuba II is the next generation of the INLITE classic. A high performance LED track spot the Tuba II has the choice of interchangeable lenses providing design options for both private and professional settings. A deep set lamp position ensures visual comfort and glare control. The Tuba II is equipped with an integral phase dimmable driver and Global track adaptor pre-determined for single or three circuit track.

The Hero LED engines have advanced with the new improved performance Hero Pro II and Super Hero II.

The latest addition to the Hero Series is the new Super Hero Pro SP, a super-narrow beam LED engine which has been designed for applications where a precise narrow beam is required. Using Luxeon LED with CRI of 95+ and a high performance optical lens, the Super Hero Pro SP is ideal for precise spotlighting applications.
