Voka of Ghent – Delta Light

5.3.2014

The new headquarters of Voka East Flanders in Ghent was completed last year. The result is a striking building for the city and its entrepreneurs. A fascinating place in which everything revolves around the initiative, creativity and entrepreneurship. A hot spot in the city’s most dynamic area that symbolises the rapidly innovating provincial capital.

HEADLINER, ENDLESS and SPLITLINE profiles were used. In the entrance hallway of the building, METRONOME XXL as an eye-catcher, but also in the conference room on top of the building, they used the smaller version of this unique ceiling suspended lighting fixture.

Budapest Music Centre: Delta Light

25.2.2014

In late 2013 Budapest Music Center (BMC), an architecturally and culturally unique institution, opened its gates in a newly emerging cultural district of Budapest. The building is a musician’s 30-year-old dream come true and one can sense in every part of it that this house was built by a musician for musicians.

The building is very complex and functionally versatile. Thanks to the developer’s experience the connections between the spaces are extremely deliberate, and you’ll find almost no place in the building which would serve only one purpose. This versatility however never hinders the possibility to perform simultaneous activities.

For the inner surfaces, pure, natural materials were used. Colours of black, white, grey and oak dominate, accompanied in many places by the friendly, warm surface of the visible masonry wall. The lobby and other main circulation areas are designed with polished concrete flooring.

Featured are the Dox, Cumulus, and Husk by Delta Light.

Sunset DIM technology: LED which dims like halogen

24.2.2014

Sunset DIM is patented technology where the colour of the LED gets warmer as it is dimmed in the same way as a conventional halogen light source. Sunset DIM technology not only reduces both the luminous intensity and colour temperature of the light source when dimmed, but does so following the same colour change curve as a halogen lamp, meaning a gradual and smooth shift between 2900°K and 1800°K over the dimming range of 100% – 0%. This makes Sunset DIM perfectly suited to applications such as hospitality and residential environments where warm accent lighting is required to create mood.

This is achieved through the use of 3 different kinds of LED types (ultra high power density LED chips from premium chip manufacturer Lumileds) and 4 different LED colours for a consistent colour match to MR16 halogen light sources, while patented optics present the visual appearance of conventional MR16 halogen lamps.

In addition to this, phosphor conversion technology holds the CRI high throughout the brightness range and keeps the colour consistent across a wide range of operating temperatures.

“Step-less” colour changing delivers a smooth and continuous change of colour throughout the brightness range, consistently from 100% down to 0% of maximum intensity.

Sunset DIM operates with conventional phase control or DALI control gear from Diginet.

Sunset DIM is employed in the Hero MR and Super Hero MR LED sources, ensuring both the visual appearance and functionality of the traditional halogen reflector lamp.
